Default cartography - txtmod- tpf file

Hi

If this is in the wrong section, or has been raised before - my appologies.

I seem to be having a problem in getting the txt mod application, from the wiki site to run.

It downloads OK bu I cannot open the file.

Its a tpf (whatever that is lol)

It prompted me to dowmload a program called filecure but it does not work.

Could someone be so kind to assist me please.

Anticipated thanks.

You're not supposed to open the .tpf file. Instead, open TexMod in package mode, select gw.exe at the top, add the desired .tpf to the list, and click the run button.

You may find instructions on the use of TexMod on the same page where you download it on the wiki, here. If you just want to load a mod, the only section you need to worry about is this.

I'm not sure what you mean here, but that is not required to use any mods.

Slightly off topic, everytime i've downloaded Texmod recently its been flagged as a "known trojan" with a high risk level. Is there any safer way of getting it, or is my anti virus just panicing? Thanks

Don't worry. I did the exact same thing when I first started with it.

It's unfortunately a symptom of the way Texmod works. It displays trojan-like behaviour, so many anti-malware products flag it as such.

As long as you download it from a reputable source you should be fine. Bear in mind that, as a third-party apllication, you use it at your own risk.

Thanks Snograt, I was downloading it from the Wiki link, so hoping that is a reputable source.
